As the others are amazed about how striking the Heart Kingdom looks, Finral wonders where they should dock the boat. Suddenly a voice tells them just continue going forward, which Mimosa notices who that voice belongs to. The voice introduces himself as the director of spirits, Gaja, and that he has been charged with guiding them. Gaja tells Mimosa that it is good to see her again since her last visit, which Mimosa replies that it is good to see him too and that she is happy that Gaja remembers her. Gaja explains how Mimosa was among the most popular of the exchange students, and then offers them a drink that gets sweeter the more mana that is flown through it. Noelle remembers that Mimosa has studied aboard in the Heart Kingdom a long time ago and tells Yami this. Noelle also tells Yami that some nobles are currently travelling abroad for studies, which Yami tells Finral to help them out. Nishinoya tells Asahi that he isn't beating himself up about the fact that he was unable to receive the last spike. Daichi praises Tsukishima's blocking for being one of the reasons Karasuno made it this far. Tsukishima's mind is occupied, as he is already thinking about reviewing the recording of the game to improve.  Daichi tells the team that they have all grown immensely, and they should be proud for having made it this far with their inexperienced team. Kageyama, however, interjects that he wishes he could've taken this team even further. Sugawara, tearing up, proclaims that if Kageyama feels that way about his team now, then he will feel the same way about any team he is a part of in the future. As a result, she is set loose in a forest and chased by hunters on horseback with dogs and arrows. Blood runs from one of her eyes and she is struck multiple times, but she still runs until she finds a gigantic tree with a crevice at the base of its trunk. Ymir walks inside and stumbles into a chasm, where she falls headfirst and lands in water. Given Eren's freedom to choose, Zeke is puzzled that Eren would betray him and carry out his father's plans when he received the Attack Titan without being told a thing. The two of them arrive at the memory where Eren killed two of the three robbers who had kidnapped Mikasa Ackerman while they were children, and Zeke is as surprised as Grisha by the bodies. As Grisha scolds Eren as a child, the present day Eren explains that Zeke expected the two of them to be similarly scarred, but Eren fights because that is who he is, and not what his father made him. He is different from Zeke, who Eren sees as a man who can only define himself by his willingness to deny a father who died years ago. 25 years ago, Kozuki Oden parted ways with the Roger Pirates after their voyage to Laugh Tale, seeking to become shogun and open Wano Country's borders.  In the present, Orochi heads to Onigashima from Port Habu to partake in the Fire Festival, and as twilight draws near, the Nine Red Scabbards reach Port Tokage. However, none of their allies are there, and they cannot get in contact with anyone.

Izuku, Katsuki and Shoto are chasing after Endeavor through the city for their internship. Izuku remarks that Endeavor is extremely fast, which Shoto recognises as his Flashfire technique. In a business district, Starservant is floating high above the streets between the buildings, proclaiming that the world will soon be cloaked in darkness.  The civilians see him as more of a nuisance than as a threat as they go about their business. Starservant suddenly starts absorbing the glass from the windows of the buildings, gathering the glass into a giant sphere to prepare his super move, Enlightened Fallen King. He launches the glass ball down the street, calling for the root of the darkness to appear. The glass ball does not go far before Endeavor flies into it and shatters it with Flashfire Fist. The chapter begins at Marine Headquarters. Fleet Admiral Sakazuki is talking with Admiral Fujitora on the radio, remarking how pleased the latter must be with the abolition of the Shichibukai system. Sakazuki was against it, but was powerless to do anything in the face of world's royalty. Fujitora retorts that the good far outweighs the bad and how Sakazuki fails to see that. He tells Sakazuki to put his faith in the SSG and how the balance of power in the world will now change dramatically. Sakazuki agrees, and changes the subject to Wano and the Yonko, going on about Big Mom and Kaido's tentative alliance.  This startles Issho, who calls it Rocks' second coming. Sakazuki tells him not to be so dramatic, saying how this is all real and when it rains, it pours. Elsewhere inside Marine HQ, Brannew and Sengoku are briefing a group of Marines about the Yonko alliance. Brannew clarifies that Kaido and Big Mom are planning to form an alliance and have not done so yet....

For New Year's Eve, the U.A. Staff allows their students to return to their homes for a day, escorted by pro heroes. Izuku returns to his apartment to enjoy the holiday with his mother Inko. Izuku tells her what happened to him during the Joint Training Battle, and how he was helped by Ochaco and Hitoshi, although what Inko hears makes her almost faint from the impression. Once she calms down, Izuku shows her mother a letter that Eri wrote to him, thanking him for having invited her to the school festival.  Although with spelling and grammar mistakes because she is learning to write, Izuku is happy to have received it. All this makes Inko to cry a waterfall of tears of joy. Inko confesses to Izuku that she has always been worried about him, because that despite being born Quirkless, he has always tried to help others, even if he ends up with bruises. Throughout the day, she tries to get away to search for Ran-Mao, but her maid duties keep her busy. When Mey-Rin finally finds an opportunity to sneak away, Jane catches her and tells her to get back to work.  At night, Mey-Rin gears up to search for Ran-Mao and lowers herself down on a rope from her bedroom window to get to Chris Heathfield's room without being seen by Jane who wanders through the corridors. When she enters Heathfield's bedroom, there is nobody inside, but she notices a draught coming from somewhere although the windows are all closed. Dorothy creates some tea for Noelle, and explains how she normally uses this space for punishing prisoners or transporting rubble or injured people.
