Opposing Fairies is the 31st chapter of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest by Atsuo Ueda, a sequel to Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail. Natsu fights Gajeel with an intent to make him come to his senses. Meanwhile, Lucy, Loke and Virgo battle against the Strauss siblings.

As Natsu declares this event a fighting festival, Team Natsu and Juvia split up to head for four other cities of Draseel. Natsu manages to take down the manipulated Wakaba, Macao, and Romeo without a scratch before encountering the manipulated Gajeel.

After Team Natsu escape from the White Wizard, Juvia informs them about the White Wizard's motives and the reason why their friends are under her control. Not only that, they find out that the White Wizard is using them to find four remaining orbs of Draseel on Aldoron's parts of his body.

Natsu, Lucy, Happy, and Erza gather information about the Wood God Dragon Aldoron while Gray, Wendy, and Carla watch over the unconscious Juvia. However, Natsu and his friends encounter the White Wizard along with the manipulated Fairy Tail Mages and Jellal.

Team Natsu along with the manipulated Juvia arrive in Draseel wanting to find out the whereabouts of the Wood God Dragon Aldoron; the largest of the God Dragons whose true size is unrivaled to the city and the inhabitants.

As Team Natsu arrives at Rain Hill, Gray encounters Juvina, a celebrity member of Fairy Nail. During the time Gray spends his time with Juvina he becomes concerned about his relationship with Juvia, only at departure he finds the latter on board the same train they're on.

After arriving in Tekka, Team Natsu meet Erkis, who is the spitting image of Erza and a member of a celebrity guild called Fairy Nail.

Convening with Mercuphobia and Caramille the group learns of the other Five God Dragons, tasking themselves to head to Draseel in order to investigate the Wood God Dragon, Aldoron.

Sensing an enormous magic power radiating from the fist enclosing Natsu, the Fairy Tail Mages look on in awe as a red dragon emerges from Mercuphobia’s vortex. The newcomer questions the rogue Water God Dragon on his condition, but recieves no response due to Mercuphobia’s inability to reason. The red dragon suddenly releases his grip on Natsu, urging the dragon slayer not to lose while ignoring the question of his identity. He states that Mercuphobia had not yet exerted full strength, taunting Natsu’s weakness and his relation to Igneel. Revealing himself to be a fire dragon, Natsu’s rescuer sets flame to the buildings in the harbor, causing residents of Elmina to flee from the site. Mercuphobia instinctively attempts to douse the burning city with rainfall from the sea, although the red dragon boasts that his fire is capable of burning water. As Natsu angrily voices opposition to the fire dragon, the latter encourages him to extinguish the flames himself by consuming them. ...

Mercuphobia targets the harbor with a destructive water-based attack, to Fairy Tail Mages’ dismay and Natsu’s anger. Carried by Happy, the dragon slayer confronts the Water God Dragon with his dragon roar, but the attack is quickly extinguished by Mercuphobia, and the two are caught in the latter’s wave. The rest of Team Natsu make their own attempts to deal damage to the dragon, but to no avail. Natsu manages to jump onto Mercuphobia, expressing reluctance at having to battle the Water God Dragon while also vowing to slay him. However, Mercuphobia neutralizes his magic and creates a vortex, which then envelopes the dragon slayer as the other Mages look on in terror. At that moment, a dragon hand emerges from the vortex, enclosing Natsu, as a voice declares his refusal to hand the Fairy Tail Mage to Mercuphobia.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 18 Faced with the decision of having to kill Mercuphobia, Natsu berates Caramille for involving the White Wizard and refuses to slay the Water Dragon; however, he is halted by Erza and Carla, with the latter reminding the dragon slayer of his pledge to protect their team. With Natsu’s reluctant agreement, Wendy proceeds to enchant their team with dragon slaying magic as they launch a barrage of attacks on Mercuphobia. Despite this, the dragon emerges unscathed and raises the entire ocean above Elmina, leaving the spectators in awe at his power. Meanwhile, in Magnolia, the White Wizard sits at a table amidst the defeated Fairy Tail mages, declaring that she had just finished dyeing the guild white.
