Taketomi reveals the three other commentators: Konami, Ōji, and Kazuki Kurauchi. They discuss the results of the rank battle between Azuma Unit, Kageura Unit, and Ōji Unit. Ōji talks about how Okudera and Koarai overwhelmed them, and that Kageura was shot down by Azuma. Konami is confident that Tamakoma Second can get the necessary points required to move themselves to second place in B-rank.  Ōji has a bleaker assessment, noting that survival points will be difficult to gain since Ninomiya seldom uses Bail Out. Konami asserts that Osamu has a plan to deal with Ninomiya. Yuba Unit picks Cityscape B, which is their usual map. Ōji and Kurauchi note that without Kanda, Yuba Unit will have a difficult time in the battle. At Tamakoma Branch, Osamu reveals that their plan is to reunite wherever Chika is. Karasuma helps Tamakoma Second prepare for their upcoming rank battle. Osamu asks Karasuma to imitate Ninomiya by having the training room simulate Ninomiya's trion levels with Karasuma.  Karasuma agrees and has Konami take care of his dinner duty. The simulation begins and Karasuma batters Hyuse with bullets. Hyuse's pessimism in facing Ninomiya is increased. Karasuma suggests aiming or a strategy that prevents Ninomiya from going all-out. Osamu responds that the goal is to get Ninomiya to focus fully on offense and lower his guard.  Karasuma points out that Ninomiya might not fall for it, but Osamu remains optimistic. He thinks back to the encounter with Ninomiya in the restaurant and how emotionally Ninomiya acted in comparison to his teammates and concludes that Ninomiya is the type to take risks for a one-on-one. At dinner, Konami reveals that she will be a commentator and demands that they not embarrass her. The next day, the battle begins.

At Tamakoma Branch, Tamakoma Second discusses their opponents in the upcoming rank battle. Yūma notes that Yuba is much faster than the logs make him out to be, which he achieves by sacrificing range for power and speed. To counter it, they plan on having Spider or Escudo to block his shots and fighting him outside his range.  They also note Yuba's proficiency with both Asteroid and Viper; the former is for opponents with weak defense; the latter is used for opponents with strong defense.
