Black Clover Chapter 216

Asta wonders why either the Clover Kingdom will be destroyed or he is going to end up dying. Yami says that Julius's predictions are always on point and to rest in peace, which Asta asks why Yami is assuming he will end up dead. Asta asks Julius what is the meaning of all this, which Julius says that Asta's powers comes from a Devil. Asta comments that its the same as the one they faced, but thinks about how he had sensed a similar presence while in his black form. Noelle thinks about how Asta's form looked just like the devil that her nanny had told her about long ago. 

Noelle asks if Asta is okay, which Asta says that he is fine even through all his muscles ache but Mimosa tells Asta that that doesn't count as being fine. Yami tells Asta to stay back since he doesn't want to caught his devil nastiness, which Asta says that was harsh and that Yami's bluntess hurts sometime. Julius tells Asta that the black horns are the sign of a curse called Vegh, and that one can obtain them by using a forbidden spell that is connected to a world apart of their own. Asta wonders about that world apart from their own, which Julius tells him that that world is were the Devil is from. Secre says that their is a separate Devil within Asta's Grimoire, which Julius thinks about the horns on top of Secre. Secre tells them that he had received the Vegh curse when she had used a forbidden spell to try and seal the Devil 500 years ago. Secre transforms into her bird for and explains how she had transformed into a bird after the forbidden spell but is now about to change forms at will.

Julius gets excited about how Secre transformation is different from regular transformation, and how ancient magics are really neat. Asta tells Julius to get back to the conversation and wonders how he is going to die, which Julius apologizes. Julius tells everyone that their are currently three kingdom that surround their Clover Kingdom. The first is the militant nation, Diamon Kingdom, which they have a powerful army because of their scholars of sorcery, Black Magic, and their human experiments. The next is the unexplored neutral nation, Heart Kingdom, which they have mastered their own unique style magic since they have adapted to their mana rich land. The last is the demon nation, Spade Kingdom, which they have achieved supremacy by serving the ancient horror that slumbers within the extreme bitter cold of their massive land. Julius also says that beside the bordering Diamond Kingdom, the Spade Kingdom is expanding their influence into the Grand Magic Zone between them. Julius then says that currently their magic knights are exhausted and fatigued on a level they have never even been near before.

Yami tells them that the magic knights that were possessed by the elves are in an awkward situation, since they had fought as their enemies while being possessed which Mimosa and Noelle think about their squad mates. Julius says that their can't afford to lose their magic knights, which Asta says that they did nothing wrong since they were possessed by the elves. Asta continues to say that everything is the fault of the Devil and that everyone was just being used. Julius tells Asta that is what the magic congress will decide in court and that they will judge to condemn the Devil's power. Julius also says that Asta will become a scapegoat from their squad, since he is a commoner. Asta wonder who is going to run the magic congress, which Julius tells him that the royal house of Kira will be in charge.

At another part of the Royal Castle, Augustus compliments Sekke for protecting him. Julius comments about how this is was Julius said that commoners have potential and that he doesn't like that the Green Mantis is full of commoners along with their captain is always pulling crazy stunts. Augustus then continues to compliment Sekke, which Sekke thinks about how it was a coincidence since he was just running away from all the chaos. Sekke then tells Augustus that this will be a walk in the park for him since his true powers has awakened, which Augustus says that Sekke is a reliable man. Suddenly four mages appear, and comments about how their is only one weak magic knight with the king. One of the mages tells Augustus that they have come to take Augustus's life. Augustus asks who they are, which they says that that is none of his concern but that this is just the work of the Eye of the Midnight Sun. 

The four mages attack, which Augustus tells Sekke to take care of them but Sekke thinks about how he is almost out of mana. Someone suddenly comes and uses his magic to shrink the mage's spells. As the mages wonder what is going on, which the person says that the mages are evil since they are taking advantage of the crisis of this country to bearing their grudge against the royal family. The person then use their magic to force the mages to kneel, which the mages think about how they can't move. One of the mages asks if they are a member of the royal family, which the guy just ignores them. The guy asks Augustus if he is alright, which Augustus says that he is not alright since his clothes are dirty while also calling the guy Damnatio. Suddenly Damnatio gets a reaction, and comments about how in the name of the royal family and justice, he will judge the one who is possessed by the Devil.
